Thermal insulation materials are widely used in various fields such as construction, industry, home appliances, agriculture, and transportation. They are primarily used to reduce heat transfer, improve energy efficiency, and maintain stable ambient temperatures.

 

1. Building Energy Conservation

Thermal insulation materials are a core component of building energy conservation. Common applications include:

Exterior Wall Insulation: Using materials such as polystyrene foam (EPS/XPS) and glass wool boards to reduce overall building heat loss and improve living comfort.

Roof and Roof Insulation: Using materials such as glass wool felt and polyurethane foam to prevent heat exchange between indoors and outdoors, especially widely used in steel structure factories.

Partition Wall and Basement Roof Insulation: Improving both sound insulation and thermal insulation performance of residences, enhancing overall energy efficiency.

Passive Houses and Prefabricated Buildings: Using high-performance materials such as Class A non-combustible gel composite insulation coatings to achieve ultra-low energy consumption building standards.

 

2. Industrial Equipment and Pipeline Insulation
In high- or low-temperature industrial environments, insulation materials are used to reduce energy loss and ensure safe operation:

Boiler, Heat Exchanger, and Industrial Furnace Insulation: High-temperature resistant materials (up to 400℃ and above) such as rock wool and glass wool are used for wrapping and insulation.

Petrochemical Pipelines and Steam Pipelines Insulation: Rubber and plastic insulation cotton and polyurethane pipe shells effectively prevent condensation and reduce heat loss.

Cold Storage and Cryogenic Tanks: Rigid polyurethane foam is widely used in cold chain systems due to its high closed-cell ratio and low thermal conductivity (0.017–0.022 W/m·K).

 

3. Household Appliances and Daily Necessities

Electric Water Heater Insulation Layer: High-density polyurethane foam is used to wrap the inner tank to reduce heat loss, improving the energy efficiency rating to Level 2, and achieving a hot water output rate of up to 80%.

Refrigerator and Freezer Insulation: Polyurethane foam is used as the core insulation material to ensure internal low-temperature stability.

Air Conditioning System: Glass wool boards are used in the ductwork for integrated insulation and sound absorption; refrigerant pipes are insulated with rubber and plastic insulation to prevent "pipe sweating."

 

4. Agriculture and Greenhouse Facilities

Greenhouse Insulation Blankets: Used for winter insulation to maintain the growing temperature of crops inside the greenhouse. The material is mostly flame-retardant fiber cotton filling, covered with waterproof non-woven fabric.

Grain Storage Temperature Control and Preservation: Polyurethane material is used in the middle layer of the air-supported membrane warehouse to maintain a suitable grain temperature through its heat-locking function, preventing mold growth.
